Ljós Hat, and woollen vs worsted spun yarns

You’d be right in thinking I spent most of this summer knitting hats. I tend to knit all year round, and hats are so much easier to manage when a full jumper swelters in your lap and even the thought of wearing wool makes you feel overheated.

INSULATE! Hat

One thing I love about the knitting community is how its members unabashedly embrace pop culture. Ravelry forum groups, designs and challenges revolve around Harry Potter, Star Trek and Totoro. And of course, there are a pleasing number of designs in tribute to my favourite TV show, Doctor Who.

Health update – neurologist report

It feels strange to post an update when there’s really nothing to update, but here I go! Some time last year I consulted a neurologist to determine if there was any known underlying neurological cause for my worsening symptoms. I’m sure those of you reading with chronic illnesses will understand that seeing a new specialist is not something you take lightly – the entire process consumes so many spoons that sometimes you have to trade off whether it will leave you better or worse off, health-wise.

Electrolyte drink review updates, and some thoughts on Banana Bag

Just letting you know I’ve updated my Electrolyte Drinks Mega-Review post with a couple more reviews. The first is for Repalyte, a flavour-free rehydration sachet which Ruth kindly sent me. It’s a handy alternative for those who cannot tolerate flavours or extra ingredients. The other is Aqualyte, an Australian-made product which proved a sugary disappointment. Sew Over It Sylvia Robes

I’m still catching up on blogging everything I sewed and knitted over the past few months. Today I’m sharing a couple of Sew Over It Sylvia Robes,* sewn in print rayon I bought on sale at Spotlight. These jackets have been one of the most frequently worn additions to my closet I think I’ve ever made.
